    ACE Solenoid Block Problem!

You can end up spending a fortune and still end up with a leak - been there seen that done it - you might want to consider scrapping the ACE. It's a great system when it works, once you have problems they are a nightmare to resolve. Those washers are very expensive and the pipe has to locate...

ACE & SLS removal disco2 HELP

Hi Steve, first off it's best to post in the Disco section. My understanding is with the ACE it was not suplied as a standard fit so any series 2 Disco could run without it. If taken off you must replace the anti roll bars with the the standard ones and these also differ between air suspension...

To anyone that's successfully replaced the rear ACE pipes

Hi Chris, your ACE system looks in far worse condition than mine was. I spent over £500 on new pipes but just couldn't get the seals at the block to stop leaking. I reset them dozens of times, using LR seals (£20 each) to start with and then O rings to save on cost. Every time I had the same...

Air suspension issue but not airbag

Hi Ovinjo, sorry to hear your D2 is sinking. You need to check all the pipe connections, especialy the ones in to the bags. If they haven't pushed in properly they may be leaking. There is a definite final 'click' movement as they locate. As to locks and water - the central locking actuator is...

    Bleeding ACE rear system

Hi Discomite, ACE bleed is carried out using testbook with the droplinks disconected. THe system runs a test program that runs the system and has the vehicle 'dancing' to pump the fluid round. The system is high pressure and all the air will get back to the resevoir and must be kept topped up as...

Genuine Safari Roofrack. Anyone seen these?

Think you'll find thats a 'series' badge off an older vehicle. The rack looks a bit weak, I don't think it will have much weight capacity. It probably screws down to the gutters as a lot of older style racks used to. Paul.

Again, rear ACE PIPES,repair, replace or deactivateIR

You need a torx head tool inside a ring spanner to hold the bar as the nut turns. Can be fiddly and difficult to get purchase but shouldn't be too much of a problem. Paul

Again, rear ACE PIPES,repair, replace or deactivateIR

Hi Discomite, the ACE system is relatively simple but very expensive. The rear pipes are quite easy to replace, just fidly to get into position. If you get new ones they should come with washers, there are two bango washers on each of the two conections to the actuator. May be worth putting a...

td5 disco ace equipement 52 plate

Hi Sibbo, the hardest part of the job is getting the pipes into position. They are a push fit into the valve block but the seals have a habbit of shredding if the pipe is not dead straight as it goes in. At £20 per pipe not a cheap problem. They can be put on to the pipe and then inserted, you...

Disco II TD5 cuts out when put handbrake off

Discoqueen, you asked if ACE fluid is low is this a problem -- YES Top it up with fluid from Landrover, about £16 litre , and then inspect sysrem to find the leak. It is a sealed hydrolic system like brakes, and shouldn't go down. If your warning light comes on stop an dont drive any further...

    Judder at 15MPH

Hi, welcome to the forum. First sell the gaylander and get youself a decent Landy !!!!!!!!!!!!! Other than that check your tyres for any bulges or missing weights - do they need re-balancing ? Check tyre pressures, rim damage, anything obvious. After that, if brakes etc. have been checked...

    Bang / Thud when turning - TD5 Disco 2

Have a closer look at your rear anti roll bar links. They are the 2 bars that have small ball joints that drop from the ends to the axle. Even a small amount of movement can make a suprising amount on noise. Quite cheap and easy to replace. Paul.

    ACE Amber light

There is no sure way of knowing why your amber light is on other than plugging into a computer. The oil should not be dirty and the ACE system is extremely sensitive to debris in the oil so this is unlikely. I'm not sure what the service schedules say about changing the oil so it would be worth...

Rear self leveling air suspension - The fuse keeps blowing

Water can get to the air filter from the sunroof drain pipe which you should also see behind the rear light cluster. If it's not there it may have broken off and needs replacing, sunroofs can cause alsorts of water issues !!! Paul.

Removing factory fitted side skirts & flaps.

Hi, I presume that you mean the plastic sill cover ? This is realy easy and is a few bolts and then the round plastic plugs. These are removed by using a small screwdriver to lift out the central core and then the plug is free to pop out. I don't know of any replacement mud flaps for the front...

    Southdown Snorkle

I've fitted one to my TD5. Not a huge job but better to take your time and not cock it up. I took the wing off after putting the template in place and cut using a dremel. Then its just routing and sealing everything including the air box. Used rivnuts on the pillar, much neater and better than...

    Tailgate lock

Brian, before you give up this is a common problem, I had the same with my '99 TD5. Prize the LR badge from the rear door handle and spray into the hole liberaly with WD40. My door was stuck solid, wouldn't open at all from inside or out, and this resolved it completely 18 months ago with no...
