Is there an easy way to get the lock barrels out of the front door handles? Don't want too disassemble the whole door to get the handles out. Searching the net gives me all kind of tutorials for the rear door... :(

Be sure where the water is entering, don't seal everything up on suspicion. The previous owner of my TD5 did exactly this - bad silicon everywhere. More problem than solution. If the sealing isn't perfect, water will still enter, but it will be harder to trace. And stay underneath your new...

Finally managed to get the wheel bearing and the constant velocity joint replaced. The parts were somewhat worn, but not enough to explain for the noise - which isn't gone, by the way. So back to square one...

Thinking about replacing them. Take off roof, side panels, cappings, remove all the rotten silicon smeared into the seams (grrr!), rebuild. Primary research is into monetary issues. Barring some nasty surprises everything looks good. I want to get this done before the weather gets really bad...

Had this happening just last weekend. Grub screw got loose and the plastic thingy which keeps the wiper arm on the axle was a little bit worn... Almost lost the wiper...

Cleaned the MAP sensor. About fecking time...

Fixed it. Or made it worse... On a test drive after cleaning the MAP sensor I hit a large pothole with the right front wheel. The clicking is gone, now there's a slight squeaking instead. Guess I'll really have take it apart, any month now.

Bad the same problem. Took off the door seals - a poor fitting door killed it. In the curvy sections there's such a poor fit the seals just don't have a chance to keep the rain out. So it's probably a good idea to take them off so you know where to add additional sealant.

Replaced leaking door seals. Looking good, but somehow not looking forward to the next rain shower. :D
