    I spent 8 weeks test driving and looking at many 4x4s Disco was too agricultural, grand cherokee had awful rear leg room. X5 is big, is very comfortable for the whole family, handles extremely well and is reasonably powerful.

    No, it's easy.. Just buy a genuine filter not a cheapo one (as I did originally). Fold down rear seats, undo carpet clips and pull back, undo inspection cover with crosshead screwdriver. Unplug loom and run engine until it stalls - remove battery negative lead Unplug fuel line mark locking...

    Yep, running sweet.. Still trading up though, possibly to a facelift TD4, as late plate as I can get.. Failing that some other 4x4 - mishy or summat. Hoping to spend less than £5k
