    I spent 8 weeks test driving and looking at many 4x4s Disco was too agricultural, grand cherokee had awful rear leg room. X5 is big, is very comfortable for the whole family, handles extremely well and is reasonably powerful.

    No, it's easy.. Just buy a genuine filter not a cheapo one (as I did originally). Fold down rear seats, undo carpet clips and pull back, undo inspection cover with crosshead screwdriver. Unplug loom and run engine until it stalls - remove battery negative lead Unplug fuel line mark locking...

    New fuel filter, now running worse. 1.8 petrol.

    UPDATE - after replacement (2nd hand) fuel pump and new fuel filter, injectors cleaned out and a new dizzy/rotor the engine is running like a new one! I'm sure it's now running better than it has in the 3 years that I've owned the car..

    Got my hands dirty this morning - turns out the dizzy and rotor are shot.. I've cleaned them up and it's running really well at the moment, will get a new rotor and dizzy tomorrow... THANKS EVERYONE!!
