    freelander engine swap.

The answer to the above question is a big fat no, the ird won't fit the t series pg1, however, the end plate from the t series can be notched to fit the ird bracket on the freelander box and 3 of the 4 bolts line up, I intend to weld another lug onto the freelander bellhousing to hold it all...

    freelander engine swap.

Sorry to dig up a old thread but did anyone get anywhere with this conversion as yesterday I bought a 620ti engine to put in my freelander after the k started doing an impression of a kettle. I thought the bellhousing pattern would have been the same, but after reading this it seems not. Would...

How do you identify a V6 IRD?

Seems I'm not the only one with a knackered prop boot then....

    front winch

I thought of doing something similar, being a fabricator by trade, but I was going to use a 60x60x4 box section as a receiver hole behind the number plate, so I could pop off the plate, which would fit in the same receiver, and slot the winch on when needed, a pair of anderson plugs would sort...

    freelander or not!!

The fully independant suspension helps the hippo's drive no end mind. The freelander is the best road car out of the lot, but not as good as the others when the going gets tough

Just a random question that will make me sound stupid.

There's a hell of a lot to manifold design peeps, and I aint no expert!!!!

Just a random question that will make me sound stupid.

altering the size and length of the primary and secondary pipes will alter the range in which the engine produces it's most useable power, for example F1 teams regularly change manifolds to suit different circuits.

Just a random question that will make me sound stupid.

On a four stroke you want to provide the opening valve with as much a pressure differential as possible to increase exhaust scavenging. Open headers will provide the best power possible, although good merge collector design can offset some of the drawbacks of merging exhausts by using the flow...

Just a random question that will make me sound stupid.

Reed valves on a two stroke engine are in the intake for a start, and they're there to stop any mixture being pushed back to the carb. The expansion chamber on a two stroke exhaust is designed to create a reverse pulse back to the engine in order to keep as much of the mixture in the cylinder...
