I was running late to work last night so was having to put the old girl through its paces. Got to work and engine temp was slightly higher than normal and engine revs had dropped, it was just ticking over. Left it for a while, one of the lads took it to another site and on his return fired up...

Seen the above Freelander on a w plate. I currently have a 300tdi disco but as I have separated from my wife I am looking for something cheaper to run but still could with a 4x4 for at the farm. Would there be much saving? Insurance is much cheaper.

I know parts etc are more expensive for D2 then D1 but I mean the day to day running costs.

I am currently running a 2.5 '96 Disco 300 TDi, due to splitting with my wife I am looking for cheaper options. I have seen a '00 4.0 V8 LPG TD5 for sale, would there been any savings as in fuel costs between to two or would it be about the same?

I need to replace the rear uj on the front prop but need to do it at work and need the disco to get there. Would I be fine to drive it over the weekend without the front prop?

I am sure i have seen somewhere how to strip callipers down on 300tdi disco but i cant find it anywhere... can anyone help please?
