2.5 300TDi ~vs~ 4.0 V8 LPG TD5

I am currently running a 2.5 '96 Disco 300 TDi, due to splitting with my wife I am looking for cheaper options. I have seen a '00 4.0 V8 LPG TD5 for sale, would there been any savings as in fuel costs between to two or would it be about the same?

running on lpg is surposed to give you diesel economy. but factor in the higher price tag of discovery 2 parts prices being alittle higher than a disco 1. Atleast that way you then have a bench mark to go from

PMSL! Sorry guys, realised my mistake there! I meant the shape as in D2, doh! its a 4.0 V8i

I know parts etc are more expensive for D2 then D1 but I mean the day to day running costs.

You would probably make a fuel saving of about 40% compared with petrol, But compared to diesel can't really judge now because the price of LPG is shooting up.
