    Can't open tailgate

Hi Just seen post so dont know if you've managed to sort it? Stuck tailgate is a common problem with a D3. From memory it is either the micro switch on top section of tailgate or cable detaching itself from the actuator on lower section. As you say it is making noises when pressing switch...

    Splitting Disco 200tdi Heater Unit

Hi I'm half way through changing the motor in the heater unit. I realise you have to split it in two to take out the motor and have removed all the metal clips and screws etc. Do you have to drill out two of the rivets holding the control levers frame onto the front of the heater unit to...

    "Pre" MAC 4x4 Challenge!

Do you mean the short sloping/ angled bit of the dash joining the top flat bit of the dash, where the windscreen vents are, to the dash board shelf where the grab handle is? It looks as if there arn't any ducts behind this bit and it looks tall enough to fit a carling switch.

Hi Greenhornet I ve looked at a few threads about the steering box and decided that a recon would suit me best as there is alot of play in the box. The seal kits dont seem to last that long. I based in sunny Pembrokeshire (although its been chucking it down for the last few days:)) I have...

    boot floor replacement

I agree with Greenhornet, spot weld drill is your best bet (clarke). I only used the grinder to cut up the middle of what was left of the floor to get a loose edge, I then worked around the edge of the floor using the spot weld drill. A small crowbar was also very handy, it helped identify where...
