Hi

I'm half way through changing the motor in the heater unit. I realise you have to split it in two to take out the motor and have removed all the metal clips and screws etc.

Do you have to drill out two of the rivets holding the control levers frame onto the front of the heater unit to pull the two halves apart? Seems a bit drastic but cant see anyother way??

I realise a pic of the rivets would be helpful but i 've tried uploading three times with no success! Maybe its something to do with living in the middle of nowhere and only having 0.5M broadband:confused:

Finally managed to get the heater box apart what a ball ache:D

Ive modified the resistor mount as the new motor has the resistor fixed directly to the motor - thought it wouldnt be a simple job!!!!

Ive had to put some shims to pack the motor in its tubular mount as it is slightly smaller in diameter than the old one ive taken out - my question is, being hopless on leccy stuff, is it ok to use plastic for the shims around the motor body or should i use metal? Will the motor body get too hot for thin plastic shims?

Again sorry for no pics but I cant seem to upload any.

cheers
