    FCR FAULTMATE £183:08 inc VAT & P.P

Home from a weekend away to find my FCR waiting for me. I wasn't expecting it until today at the earliest, so great work, Paul. And thanks too for organising the whole thing. Thanks also to BBS for the great discount. Now to see just how many faults I can find in my P38

How the F##k do you fit the teflon piston seal...AArrrggghhhh

I used an adjustable copper pipe cutting wheel to do mine. Just tighten it a bit more with each turn and the blade wheel should cut away the old teflon seal and slowly prise the top off the piston. The mistake I made, which it seems you haven't, was taking the motor to pieces so I could get the...

    lpg tank refill

Did you fill it up at the same place both times? I put 80+ litres into my empty 95 litre tank at an ASDA in Dundee, but at my local independent gas place in Aberystwyth I could only squeeze 50 litres in before it cut out, even though the tank was again completely empty. The fill level lights...

P38 CV boot replacement - Help!

Thanks gegs. You can get CV boots that are designed to be glued together like that, but I couldn't find one for the P38 and other people on various fora were sceptical as to their longevity.

P38 CV boot replacement - Help!

Just in case anyone else needs to know. The narrow end of the CV boot will fit over the oil seal flange. I warmed it up in the oven to soften the plastic a bit and then very carefully levered the edges over with a couple of blunt screwdrivers. There's a horrible chance of putting a hole in it...

P38 CV boot replacement - Help!

Hi all, it's me again. I knackered the CV boot getting the hub off the hub carrier on my 4.6 HSE. New kit arrived in good time, but having cut the split one off, I can see no easy way of getting a new one on. Rave fails completely to even mention CV Joints or boots, so this is obviously...

    P38 Front Hub woes

OK, quick update. I've got the bugger out now. Judicious application of heat to the hub carrier, then putting the bolts back in most of the way and whacking them with a big hammer. I think I'm going to need a new CV boot and four new bolts, but that's a small price to pay. Next job, getting the...

    P38 Front Hub woes

Hi All, I'm new to the forum, so please forgive any lapses in etiquette. I've tried searching on this, but can't find any answers. I'm trying to get the N/S front hub off my 95 4.6 HSE, but it appears to be welded tight. Does anyone have any useful tips or tricks? It's been doused in WD40...
