Hi All, I'm new to the forum, so please forgive any lapses in etiquette. I've tried searching on this, but can't find any answers.

I'm trying to get the N/S front hub off my 95 4.6 HSE, but it appears to be welded tight. Does anyone have any useful tips or tricks? It's been doused in WD40, whacked with a hammer as best I can, and I've even tried applying a bit of heat to the hub carrier, though not too much as I don't want to destroy the bearings or any of the rubber seals close by.

I need to get the hub off to replace the driveshaft oil seal, which is leaking.

All advice gratefully received.

OK, quick update. I've got the bugger out now. Judicious application of heat to the hub carrier, then putting the bolts back in most of the way and whacking them with a big hammer. I think I'm going to need a new CV boot and four new bolts, but that's a small price to pay.

Next job, getting the old oil seal out and cleaning up what looks like several years worth of accumulated oily dirt and grot before putting everything back together again.

It would seem Range Rovers aren't for driving so much as tinkering with.

:welcome2: to our world! They are great cars so don't give up, I haven't got any experience with the P38 as I drive a L322 and as a new owner my self i have had my share of problems so far but I wouldn't change it for any other car. Good Luck! and welcome to the family :D

i think i would have just lowered the car on to the floor with just the disc on, usually this loosens the disc quick!

The hub is a right pain to remove as it's usually rusted on solid. Butchery will remove it and dressing up afterwards with an abraisive disc and flap wheel in the bore followed by a good coat of anti sieze grease makes it easier next time.
