just tried 1 gear drive in first gear when other forward gears selected no drive but a whirring sound from gearbox. could this possibly be adjustment on the cable or worse? thanks snoops

HI james i tried the wheels one at a time, i will jack up the front axle & support it on stands, is it best to put into neutral with handbrake off & should the wheels turn freely or lock up forwards & backwards? thanks snoops

Thanks for both of your replies, again jacked up all wheels whilst in diff lock none of the wheel turned freely & locked up after about a quarter of a turn. both front wheels with diff lock disengaged turn forward but lock up after half a turn backward. the atf was checked by dipstick, does this...

thanks redhand it is an auto, so if i engage difflock then jack it up i should be able to turn the offending wheel with the stuffed halfshaft? i forgot to mention when i lost forward drive there was a bang i have checked the atf & it is not burnt. Snoops

However i have reverse so i could reverse it back up the drive, i was thinking i might have snapped a drive shaft...

Sorry didn't explain if you replace the bulb for the abs & it remains lit you will have to repair the fault for the light to extinguish, the same being for the srs.

A lot of people remove the abs warning light as there might be a fault on the system & they remove the bulb to get it through the mot, this does not stop the abs from working unless they have removed the fuse protecting the abs system. I don't know about the srs light but i would imagine the...
