Just back from my local tyre dealer, they took a look and said didn't want to interfere too much but the 'new' bridgestones just fitted were part worns and run flat tyres. They said they would be ok on a BMW or similar but shouldnt really have been put on the freelander.Normally 4 run flats...

Cheers again,spoke to the garage today about this,all they said was they weren't aware of the 5mm tolerance,obviously not very obliging to pay for extra pair as the 'sunny' budgets of same size on front(225/55 17) are virtually new with masses of tread. difference in price the sunnies about £70...
