    exhaust and clutch nightmare

Just get the parts book and order from lrdirect.com. You have the choice of original, ****part, Bearmach Bearmach OEM etc etc... You find the part number and so you eliminate the main chance of getting the wrong bit. Julian.

    Defender Heater in Series

I improved my series heater by installing 2 matrixes, one on top of the other. You just need some sheet metal and a bit of MIG stitching to hold it together!

    New clutch slips?

Make certain the pedal is not semi-siezed on the shaft. I had this with my three that had been standing for a long while. Pull the pedal up hard with your hand and see if it comes up any....

    2.25 Diesel Engine oil

15w-40 is fine. That's what I use as it's tractor oil that I buy in 45 gallon drums. Just make sure it's Diesel specific as this has a higher concentration of detergent additives. Being honest, any old Diesel engine oil will be fine in the old girls - just don't use modern ****y thin stuff.

    s3 heater electrics

I have an idea that it's meant to be inside the snail casing as the airflow will keep it cool. My guess would be that the external resistors have been retro-fitted at some time as it makes the job easier. (could be wrong though) Julian

hello all, series 3 engine debate

You'll get the like it, I've had a series 3 Diesel now for a few years and love it. I do a fair bit of towing and am always happy with it, regularly using low box on some hills. The only thing it's not good at is towing on the motorways as it simply does not have enough power to allow you to...

    Gearbox 3/4 synchro leaf springs

I know, but the Britpart ones will most likely be made wrong too and also manufactured from annealed mild steel with a good helping of slag! I just purchased some genuine LR ones at huge expense but given the work involved doing this job it's probably money well spent!

    Gearbox 3/4 synchro leaf springs

Just looking for some advice on these synchro leaf springs. I'm rebuilding the box because in swallowed a spring that came out as lovely zig-zag bits with the oil. :( The other two are pretty much worn out also. Anyway, as normal I'm trying to do a good job and getting proper bearings and...

    Specialists and bulkhead swaps

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, I'm over on the LR4*4 forum but hoping for a little more information from anyone here. I have a 78 Series 3 Diesel with a good galv chassis and pretty straight body, however the bulkhead is badly rusted around the top section. I really want to get...
