    D2 boys club

This is the notice from Ben Anderson (BennehBoy) the D2BC IT admin. "Hi everyone, the forum is back up, albeit on a different domain - you should get redirected from the old one. Long story short the hosting company have goosed the old domain somehow (thed2boysclub.co.uk) and multiple long...

Thanks, I feared you'd say something like that. I fitted a replacement fusebox and BCU last year (Heathy). A wet IDM did immediately spring to mind, but I don't see how the folding mirrors fits, maybe a coincidence (water on the mirror ECU) ? Driving me insane now all these ridiculous problems...

    Disco 2 Fuel tank removal

The plastic tank isn't heavy. Remove the pump and syphon out the fuel first, then undo the clips on the filler hose and breather, then undo the bolts on the tank cradle and drop the tank. I've done this laying on my back and on my own many times now. Hardest part is lifting the boot carpet to...

@sierrafery Hi Fery, The d2bc is down so came over here to find you. Wondering if you can help? I have an intermittent glitch where my folding mirrors fold/unfold themselves, the windscreen wiper switch is dead, climate control, radio, and front windows all dead. I've been looking through the...

The site is down at the moment (been 5 days now to my knowledge), it's not gone away. There's a problem with the server that is being worked on. Should be back by the weekend hopefully. Don't think that admin or mods come here.

Series 3 How best to secure & immobilise a Series 3 petrol?

Years ago I had a Ford Cortina and was living on the 2nd floor in a tower block. The Cortina was parked up in the (car thief paradise) car park, so I would take out the rotor arm and put it in my pocket. One evening I heard a car cranking, turning over and over, I looked out the window and some...

Disco 2 What Is This Sensor?

Black wire is for earth connection. Since the sensor is screwed into the casing, it is already earthed so the black wire to earth connection becomes superfluous. Sensors have multiple uses in a variety of vehicles, thus the availability of the earth line.

Disco 2 Rear Proshaft and ACE roll bar removal

The principle is to use a non compressible liquid (hydraulics) to push the spigot out. Grease is a better choice. Bread has lots of air in it that has to be pressed out first before it resists further compression. I've seen toilet paper used too. Basically all these are variations on the theme...

    Discovery 2 Turbo

No it's not normal! Of course you should be able to pull away. I'd suggest that you find someone with a Nanocom and do a live data run (Inputs Fuelling) and take a look at the values you get for MAF (airflow) , MAP (air pressure), IAT (temp), etc. I'd venture the MAF and MAP sensors are not...

Disco 2 Rear Proshaft and ACE roll bar removal

I find that if you follow the workshop manual instructions, most things work out as described. However, corrosion and previous owners can cause you big problems. The drop links for example, I thought would need to be cut off. I concluded this because that's what everyone said they had to do in...

Disco 2 Rear Proshaft and ACE roll bar removal

Can't remember what I paid for my replacement pipes, think I must have gone for OEM as I don't remember remortgaging! Replacement was ok, just undid the cap nuts on the ram and caught spilled fluid. Need to get new collets, etc., for block end. All straight forward. Only real issue was lack of...

    Disco 2 Propshaft rebuild

After a bit of internet "surfing", I find that the "dust boot" is most likely made by Hardy/Dana Spicer and is readily available in the US for double cardan rebuilds on Jeeps (spit!), and Ford Pickups. Now, as mine is all reassembled now, I'm not about to take it all apart again to replace the...
