Anlyine got a pic of the big bush at the rear of the wishbone - or more precisely the housing the bush sits in !!

Just ordered a pair of new ones which have arrived, but the ally housings they are in dont seem right !!!

thanks

Chris

You on about the housings that bolt to the bottom of the car and the bush fits into? Not go no photos, but i'm intrigued to know where you got hold of the wishbones with these already fitted as removing the old bush and fitting the new one is a right c*ck of a job.

If you post us a pic of yours i'll soon tell you if it's right or not.

Yep - they are the ones im on about.

The didnt come with wishbone but bought them separately with the bush already in the ally housing.

Not had a go yet in this weather, but having had a quick glance underneath the ally bit doesnt look the same !!!

Ill get some pics tonight

The new wishbones won't come with the rear bushes fitted, only the front ones which are pressed in are fitted.
You'll have to order new bushes which you then have to reuse your alloy housing for though I'm led to believe that they are relatively easy to change (just unbolted). Be aware though that although the wishbones themselves are the same across the range, the alloy housings & bushes were changed round about 2000 so you'll need to make sure you get the right ones for your car. I too have got this job to do but am waiting for the weather to improve.

Yes - I bought the bushes separately and they cam already in some very nice alloy housings !! - think they must be for after year 2000 then cos they dont look like mine !!!!

Found a pic of what I need on the famous four website

What ive got is totally different !!!!!!! Not a clue what its for but it certainly aint my freelander

The famous 4 site sells the buch complete in the housing - 2 types so just need to confirm my chassis number - bugger - not got it with me !!

Thanks Dazz

Thats the one I need - same as on famous 4 site

Just need chassis number to get right one !!!

Havent a clue what ive got - look nothing like the things I was sent !!!!

Not quite the case unfortunately. I had a tough time getting the old bush out of the housing when i did my drivers side, it had to cut and sliced out eventually.

I have the left hand side one to do when the weather improves, not looking forward to swapping the bush one bit.

This I am worried about. Everything I'd read so far had claimed it was easy, but it sounded too good to be true.

I'll certainly be looking for the housing that includes the bush already pressed in (i believe from part descriptions it has to be pressed) but after a quick search have found it's going to be difficult to get hold of one. Does anyone have a part number for this housing?

Yes - id like to know that part number too

Checked out all the usual places online and cant find anywhere that sells them with the housing for my chassis number !!

Famous four have em with housings but they are for a chassis number starting after mine !!!! - bugger

Big Cheer !!!!

Found a supply of wishbone bushes already in the new ally housing for my 98 XEDi

Should make the job a lot easier and faster.

bit pricey at £44 each + VAT but if it saves me hours of trying to cut old ones out etc and then press new ones in it will do for me !!
