Hi all
Hope you're all not baking too much in this heat.
Just finished getting Joe...my 90...ready for mot or so I thought...jumped in to move it & found windscreen cracked in half...can anyone recommend or had experience with windscreen companies in Southampton area?

Update

Fitter turned up at 8.30 this morning after I had to rearrange a couple if times... took 25 minutes to change screen & home cleaned out drain tubes under screen...didn't know it had them...very friendly bloke would highly recommend

Thanks in advance

Haven't you got windscreen cover?
If so just go with their local fitter but consider supplying a new rubber (they split over time).

Hi Litch
I do but I don't have no claims protection...1st time I've had classic insurance & didnt realise ncb was unprotected & its £115 excess so trying to find local company that won't charge the earth

Get/supply a new OEM rubber and call Autoglass or Nationalwindscreens it will around the same cost as the excess...
I know that is everyone's recommendation but have you seen the price difference recently! a new screen is only £50 for the glass but a genuine seal is ££££

I have just failed to fit one myself as I ripped the seal while fitting so am awaiting a replacement to arrive. I will have another go but if the same happens am going to try and find someone to fit it for me. I have done a couple in the past and do not remember it being as difficult as it was to fit this one!

Hi dag019
I've bought a new seal but am not confident enough to fit screen myself...Will leave it to a grownup in case it breaks then its their problem

As already mentioned a good opportunity to fit a heated windscreen. You won't regret it.

Hi payydg
I'm not worried about heated screen as Joe's not an everyday driver anymore...have found local independent fitter who'll supply & fit new tinted screen for £120 +vat but will see if he'll do cash price
