Hi folks its been a bad couple of days, first i wreck my front bumper fighting with my fence, but thats going to have to wait for now as ive got a d2 and the windscreen has decided to get a crack in it. it definatly needs replacing as ive driven 5 miles and its grown about 6-7 cm. anyway i was seeing if any of you guys could recommend a nation wide company, or one near hull to use to replace it, as it had a screen with the previous owner and it leeked like a civ in drivers top corner. so im just getting your opinions on companys youve used. and any idea of a rough cost. I know i will have to ring up to get a quote but wanted to know what a resonable price was

so.....
Who would you recommend?
What would be a rough ressonable price?
Its non heated screen and i dont have glass cover with insurance

thanks in advance

I used National Windscreens, cost me my excess £70 for a heated one.

Had to take it back as driving on the motorway caused a whistling from the nearside, they sorted it straight away, took the screen out and resealed, no probs since and its now a year on.

They also went to a body shop to remove the cracked one and returned a week later to fit the new one after I had body work done.

It's just like buying anything else these days, play them off against each other.
Never accept the first price.
Offering to take it into their depot can bring the price down (some companies don't have premises any more and their fitters work out of the local wholesaler).
Not demanding OEM glass with the Land Rover logo can save a fortune.
Any company that fits a windscreen is responsible for the fitting for ever more, leaks whistles etc. unless it's caused by rust in the aperture.
To give you an idea I pay less than £100, plus VAT for a Sprinter screen fitted.

Cheers guys. its booked in with national windscreens for tomorrow. there just around the corner from me and it was the cheapest i got quoted plus a couple of good feedbacks off here.

cheers chaps

well got my screen sorted, just thought i would say i would recommend national windscreens to anybody, got the screen in next day (today), dropped it off this morning, picked it back up at lunch all done, they knew the commen faults with discos leaking so knew what to do there. and they cleaned up some surface rust around the apperature, primered it and sealed it. for no extra cost. so im happy

just thought i would let people know
