Will be using it for mostly on-road ferrying 3 kids, their friends and our dog around , occasional towing and driving through the snow!
Had a 3 door tdi in the past and loved it.
Not sure about the lap belts on the tdi but have heard lots of horror stories about the TD5 being very complicated to fix when things go wrong.
Either way , don't have much to spend as it is a second car / my toy!.

TD5's are great cars but if you want something cheap and cheerful go for a TDi 300 - but don't pay more than a grand, there is no need just be patient.

I bought a quite smart TDi 300 5-door a couple of months ago for £900, drove her home to France - 800mls - and gave her a full service and she's doing a great solid job now.

Don't pay to much.

I have just purchased a TD5 Discovery series 2 - only to find the offside front outrigger is totally rotten on the vertical sides, no other signs of rot (some surface but I plan to clean that up this summer).
Any ideas on where I can purchase the replacement outrigger to cut and weld back in good metal? - Any advice would be welcome.
