I've used the search function here. I've used the equipment list on Parkers and this: http://www.discovery2.co.uk/discovery_spec.html
and I still can't work out for sure which Discovery I have.

It's a Y-reg yr2000 model and the closest fit I can get is a Millennium but it doesn't say that anywhere one it. Obviously spec could have been changed at original purchase. It's got quite a lot of 'stuff' e.g. leather seats, cruise control, climate control, Harmon Kardon sound, 18" alloys. It also has electric seats which the Millennium should not have.

The details on the V5 just say Land Rover Discovery and I get the same from web sites; no model name. My insurance company have it down as an 'S'. I think some of the issue may be because it's previously had a private plate.

One last piece of info... I am told (but not sure) that it is a 'limited edition' colour... I think it's called Terracotta

In part this is just idle curiosity but I'd like the insurance company to have the right info in case it comes back to bite me.

So... anyone know for sure what I've got or how I can find out? Would Land Rover have the original build spec?

A main dealer should be able to tell you based on VIN... they have more info based on the last 6 digits than a general VIN decoder which works only with the first 11 characters

Could even have been a Serengeti in Alveston Red Paint work that has lost its badges, but they were a 2002MY.
All LR limited additions were based on the base model 'S' although in 2000/1 the base model was the 'E'.
LR like any other car manufacturer grab a base model and add make some of the vehicles options as a standard fitment, which unfortunately doesn't reflect in the vehicle resale value.
So unless u can find a reference to 'millennium' it's an S with the options the customer requested.

Thanks - I'll note it down and nip in next time I'm passing.

It's definitely not a 2002MY.

Even with a full picture who knows what model u have, it's difficult, it looks the same as any other standard early D2. S or ES or even an Adventurer which was around a similar time IIRC.
At least the D1 had a decal on the side and some subtle changes between models like wheels, seats, paint work colour :)

It could well be an ES with upgraded wheels, the Adventurer had similar wheels but they were 16's and no electric seats! Is it full leather and are the roofs electric?

It's full leather with electric roofs.

In othe rnews... the nearest main dealer to me isn't that near so I've emailed the VIN to JLR customer support.

I've had a reply from JLR with the original build spec. Interestingly it was originally on 16" wheels so those have been changed at some point.

Well, I guess it depends if you see 18" as an 'upgrade'... The original build sheet has 16" wheels so they have been changed at some point after build.
I think they're the standard 18" wheel though, nothing too footballer/gangsta...
