Hi any idea's the front passenger carpet in my disco 2 is wet, more so nearest the door its been standing for about a week and its been really raining hard. But it may have been wet for some time as I have only just noticed it, my first thought was its probably when the passenger door is opened when its been raining, the water that collects in the top of door usually comes pouring in but I dont thinks it that as its only been the drivers door thats been used lately. Before I start pulling up carpets and digging around I hope someone has had the same problem and could point me in the right direction

Could be anywhere, if near the doors then check the door seals as they are rubbish. Does it have a sunroof? another area to check. Windscreens can also leak.

Sunroof drain tube. I recently had wet carpets on the passenger side and found the sunroof drain tube was blocked which in turn filled the door pillar up which then leaked into the vehicle through a tiny hole in between two inner sill panels.

Thanks for all the advice there's lots for me to check so I know what I will be doing after christmas. I dont use the sunroof so I will probably seal that first and then check all the other bits.
Thanks again
and to all out there have a good christmas

Hi I have sealed the sunroof removed the front carpet which was soaked, removed the front seat, removed all the trim on the windscreen I parked up with the passenger side lower than the drivers side and water poured out from below the passenger side bottom of the door post, I think that water is still leaking in I am going to wait until the floor is dry and I will get the hose out and see if I can trace where it is coming in. but in the meantime has anyone got any idea as to where it could be leaking from I dont think its the heater matrix becouse it leaks when its parked up and when it is raining heavy
ps there was so much water that the carpet was almost as heavy as the front seat with so much water in it its now in the shed with a electric heater on it
forgot to mention from what I can see the water is coming out from the bottom of the post below the hole where the rubber gromet allows the electrics to go into the door post which is behind the passenger kick plate there is no water coming from behind the dash

did you ever find out where abouts it was coming in? mine has pass foot well **** wet through, no sunroofs, clean clear water, found it late xmas eve, you would need your wellies on, car been no where, just parked outside in all the rain since monday as garage got a pallet of plaster board in!

today, finally solved my problem of wet carpet pass side, already had front pass trim around a post removed, got hose and ran it all around outside of car, water was coming in down A post into car through a screw hole, goes in at door check/strap, water could not get out at the bottom as there is a drain hole at the bottom underneath behind front wheel, which was blocked, found this with a piece of metal wire, stuck it in and 2 pints of water must of been inside, once i had done this i took pass seat out, centre console, door trim edges and removed pass side carpet by cutting around G box area, and rear footwell, they were wet through, got them hanging up to dry and a fan heater in the car now to dry excess out, gonna give it a bit of a light waxoyling inside the car then put carpets back in when dry, drain hole on the outside of car put drill bit in and made a little larger, when dry fire waxoyl into and around that area, gonna do driver side whilst i am at it, will take a photo of where abouts it is tomorrow, with all the rain we have had lately must have got nearly a gallon out!

Yes
Pictures would be great I have the same issue and living in the North of Scotland we get a lot if rain and the wind seems to drive the water in places you would not believe
So a pick if the drain hole would be great
