I recently started to be getting a lot of vibration when turning corners at low speed (below 20mph) and today I got it when slowing down in a straight line. I had the VCU replaced about 2 years ago so I'm sure it can't be this at fault. Is there any other explanation as to why this is happening?

Thanks, just seen a thread about the VCU test and will try it out this evening. Is it possible that it could be knackered even though the VCU is 2 years old and only covered about 8000 miles in that time?

Where did you get the VCU from? A new or recon unit shouldn't fail after that millages - but then some fail early, some are delivered in an unworking state and others are just a gamble!

I'm not so sure its the VCU though - especially if its now happening when your slowing down in a straight line. More likely something to do with brakes or suspension - maybe rear diff mounts. I think you need to identify more clearly where the vibration is coming from.

Thanks Mike, bearings were replaced at the same time. It's starting to sound expensive to fix given all the possibilities of what's wrong, may have to end up selling for spares/repair.

You need to ascertain that the garage fitted a new VCU as opposed to a recon from some unknown supplier. Secondly you need to find out if the garage fitted genuine support bearings. Cheep bearings last no time at all.
Once all those checks are completed with no obvious cheap parts used, move on to the diff mounts. These are cheap and easy to change.

Will definatley find out as to the origin of these parts, it certainly cost me enough so I'd hope they're genuine parts. Thanks for the suggestions, hopefully will be running smooth again soon!!
