I have read lots of threads about using veg oil in the TD5 and I know that the accepted wisdom is dont do it.

However I am interested if anyone does actually use veg oil in a TD5 either with a separate system or as a diesel additive! I have not found anything from someone who has direct experience of it in a TD5.

Would love to hear from anyone who has or is using veg oil.

I am a great fan of veg oil and am rebuilding an old 90 TD to run on the stuff at 100%.

However I also own a Td5 and would never EVER in a million years put ANY of the stuff in it. It's better in these old lumps that were designed to be run on candle wax and twigs.

I'm sure Td5s don't even really like diesel.

When the TD5 Storm engine was been developed they ran it for 10,000miles on a kerosene mix which it would probably be running on in 3rd world countries. IT never misfired once.

Um, I am to much of a coward to try it but I still think the TD5 would be fine with a certain percentage of Veg oil, I would not be surprised if it works fine with 25%.

But..... It would be good to hear if anyone else has tried. Kerosene is not that much different from diesel so I dont think that a very good comparison.

Of well looks as though I will have to keep forking out on Shells finest !
