hi. running 200 tdi, recently started running 30 p/cent veg / derv mix motor running better than ever ,is this usual?. also in laymans terms whats the legality with new oil if I cant get more used oil:D

Yes it is usual to run better on the veggie, it has more energy in it per litre than diesel, I have posted hugh amounts of information about this so do a little search and I am sure you will find more info.

Legalitys: you are allowed to use 2500litres of bio fuel a year without paying tax, how do they know? Its the tax mans way of backing down because he was fighting a loosing battle.

Now I wouldn't mind running my 200 on veg oil, whats required to do it? Extra fuel filter I know, but what else to get set up? Where do you get the stuff from and where do you keep it?
Also, does it make your car smell like a chippy?

No, bio is different, veg oil is veg oil, to make it into bio fuel you need to process it with chemicals to basically spilt the molecules in half.

Bio is better for your engine, veg oil can lead to problems as it is quite viscous and doesn’t offer the injection pump adequate lubrication, however at the % you are running it there will be no problem.
