work is well under way on our 1958 tow truck resto now, ihave removed the head to check condition and replace seals and gaskets and while it is of am wondering if it is worth having the valve seats replacing bearing in mind it wont be doing mega miles no plans to sell it so not worried about resalabillity.

so just wondering approx cost to wiegh up against additives?

Wouldn't hurt to get them changed for harder seats
A 58 engine would have been designed to run leaded fuel

usually just fit hardened exhaust seats ,inlet just recut ,but if both seats well worn fit both inlet and exhaust ,but fit new guides first ,as guide is used to center seats, cost anything from £10 per seat
