Urgent advice required!!

I have started to strip things down to replace my timing belt on a 1994 Discovery 300Tdi and have come to a standstill. I can't get the crankshaft pulley off. When I got to the crankshaft pulley I was shocked to find the bolt holding it on was only finger tight. Can anyone help please by giving me ideas as to how to shift it?

so you've removed the bolt, but the pulley is jammed on the shaft - is that right?

The pdf workshop manual I have seems to anticipate a certain reluctance: "Remove pulley, if necessary using extractor LRT-12-409 with thrust pad from LRT-12-031". I haven't had to do it myself yet, so can't offer an alternative I'm afraid... Good luck.

I was aondering if applying some heat may help?

There's instructions too, which may give you a clue...

You could try a puller.
Or, accept the fact that you're gonna have to buy a new pulley and attack it with a big hammer and chisel.

Well I agree, the decision has been made to attack it with a hammer and chisel and get a new pulley. Been at it all day and still no movement. Drive it over a cliff may be a better idea!!

would appear driving it is out the question being stripped down, typical landy being towed again

Drill two holes at oppo side to centre
big Bar with bolts through to fit the holes
Then use the the bar fitted to front if pulley to twist the pulley of the shaft after locking engine by putting in gear etc
