Hi all looking for some help with my p38 diesel 1997 reg.
When accelerating i get to 55mph and the turbo boost just drops off. Take my foot off and then put it back down and turbo comes back again until about 65mphish and then drops the boost again and then taking foot off and putting back down it comes back till 80mphish. Its also stops boosting if i am on any sort of incline and starts dropping speed?

Had a diagnostic check only fault was the 4th injector shorting/ earth fault.

Any help is really appreceated
Thanks

So, you have the answer, no problem with the turbo, just the needle lift sensor in #4 injector. Check the wiring and connector for damage or corrosion, otherwise fit a new injector.

Thanks i am going to buy a injector socket today. Do you know how to check transfer box with front prop shaft off?
The only way I know of checking the mechanical condition of the transfer box is to take it apart, but they rarely give trouble. You can check the VCU from the front prop flange.

Do i just turn the flange where the propshaft bolts to? I bought the car when the front propshaft had snapped the ujs?

Gearbox neutral, Apply 15-20 LBs ft of torque to flange nut for one minute, in that time it should turn 25 to 30 degrees. If it won't turn at all no matter how you try it's knackered.
