Anyone else experienced this? It has happened three times over the last cold spell. After a very cold night the recorder has been reset on startup. Honestly I haven't touched the reset button, anyway it has to be held for 3 secs before it resets and even after a good night before I think I would remember that.

Dont suppose I will do much about it but it would be nice to know. Its playing havoc with my fuel consumption calculations!

New one to me. Wonder if it's because of low volts somewhere during excessively cold cranking?

I get a similar problem with my CD changer re-initialising first thing on a cold morning. The problem is the batteries internal impedance going up with the cold and the terminal voltage dropping so low on the lockjaw starting current that the electronics are resetting. Does the display revert to the total milage display as well?

Battery terminals are well maintained, including eathing points.
The total milage indicator doesn't reset so I cant sell it with 'low milage'!
I wondered if it was the type of memory used? I heard the trick with car radios was to put them in the freezer to zero the identification code.
