Hi Everyone, Just dashed out to complete an oil service before our holidays and have uncovered a crankcase filter element on the left hand side of the engine under the injector harness. It appears to have a diaphram control of some sort, but I can find no evidence of the item on Rave. Anyone know whether this item has to be replaced or can I clean it in petrol. Any help much appreciated. Cheers

Should be replaced as a service item, its the same as a TD4 one. There should be loads on here about them blocking if you do a search.

I want to change my one too !

But just been trying to find out if it is EXACLY the same as the freelancer TD4 one ?? As there was a BMW upgrade part for the freelander one that replaced the filter pad with a cyclone type filter that doesn't need servicing again once fitted!

So if they are the same I'm going to fit the upgraded BMW part to mine

I'm pretty sure the only difference on the td6 is the extra 2 cylinders ?
Thanks :D

It's exactly the same as the TD4 one. Land Rover part number is LLJ500010, search for that part number and you'll get loads of hits

Cheers mate

Don't suppose you know the BMW code for the upgraded breather ?
I know someone posted it on the freelander section some time ago.

I understand you can buy the filter part on its own without the casing ?

the upgraded breather is a complete unit it has no filter inside more of a valve set up.
if you search for mg zt pcv valve upgrade and the such like you will find it rather quickly on mg rover forums
or bmw m47 pcv valve
