Hi all, I’ve not looked majorly into it but I like the idea of having a hybrid turbo on my td5 disco 2, what will this require all round will I need nee intercooler, pipes and a map? It’s already got a smoke map with a limiter and a full straight pipe and pulls like a train and does anyone know anything about propane boosting and if it’s worth doing. Thanks, dan

Hello Dan..
For starters, I think you'd be asking a lot of your engine, especially with you considering running propane through it as well.
Stock, the TD5 is quite a tough unit, but be cautious about possible thermal damage as you increase boost and add secondary fuelling.
I believe the notion of hybrid turbos basically works around say grafting a bigger compressor and housing from one turbo unto the stock turbine housing of another to get the benefits of faster spooling whiles having higher boost pressures - or at least that's what I think it is.

It all comes down to long-term reliability and how far you're willing to push your engine.
