Can someone tell me where the fill plug is for the td5 auto gear box please. I can see one to the front with some pipes beny around it. Is this the one? If so oil is ****ing out and someone has overfilled.

Or is it somewhere else:confused:

filler plug is front slightly to drivers side on tin sump ,engine must be running with box in neutral after first just pulling selector through gears with foot on brake to ensure totque convertor clutch pistons etc are full of oil as would be when running there will appear to be excess oil if above isnt done

To be more specific > nr. 19;)

+ 1 what he said.

Thanks for that,

Been getting the gearbox overheat light on so was suprised to see it over filled...unless its generating to much pressure......will go throught the procedure and see what happens. Many Thanks

too much oil can can over heat and damage box as the clutch baskets etc rotate above oil normally, rotating at 2-3000 times a minute with parts hitting oil would generate heat and damage ,its not unusual for auto while towing on hot day for light to come on ,it may mean some fault but just as likely be nothing to worry about ,check oil level and drop a capful out if black clutch burning out is generating heat ,less heat will be generated if car can be driven fast enough for torque convertor to lock
