Hi Guys new to the forums so be gentle,
Need some help identifying a problem. Driving down the motorway yesterday and my car gives up and dies. With the help of some friends in Northwest 4x4 (charity 4x4 response team for emergencies go donate) I was towed off the motorway to look at my car. There seems to be no power getting to the rear fuel pump. We can hear the pump under the bonnet sucking in air but cant hear anything from the rear pump and we can tell the engine is fuel starved. We put a error code reader on and it says there is no fuel pressure.
We know its the Pump but to us it seems there's not enough power getting to the pump. Putting a Multi-meter to the pump we see that when the ignition is on its pulling 6.9V and then there's no other power. This doesn't change when trying to start. We think a relay might have stopped working but i cant find it under the bonnet we also checked the inertia switch. We aren't sure which wires we need to put 12V on in order to test if its the pump or power. Obviously don't want to make it go bang.
If anyone has any experience with this or has any advice it would be much appreciated.
