I have just done a search on this but couldnt find the answer i am looking for.

arethere only two options for the swivel ball kit on series vehicles, one with steering arm on top and one with it on the bottom?

My vehicle is 1979 but appears to have a LWB front axle on according to my local landy place. I know it has the 11 inch drums with the twin leading shoes, in turn this means different size bearing on the hubs.

But are the swivels the same???? if so will this kit fit?
DA3181 | Swivel Housing Kit (later type with steering arm on the bottom - from mid 1960s)

also does anyone know if hat kit uses britpart stuff, if so can you recomend anywhere that sell non britpart stuff.

is there some way of repairing the balls then? As im going to be taking it apart and i know the swivel balls are pitted then it makes sense to do the job once and replace the balls.

I wouldnt trust britpart parts for the job but there must be some out there that are ok?

over the years i have owned 2 x s111s and one s11a and i have fitted the britpart ones on all of them inc some of my mates landy's aswell with no probs on road or off road, me and a mate plan to get another s111 soon and will be replacing them if need be with the britpart ones ;)

I rebuilt my hubs in the Spring and ordered OEM swivels from LR Series. TMy heart sank when they rocked up in blue boxes but I have to say, its the only Britpart part that actually fits and seems to be of good quality. Mine were the chrome ones (not the black teflon).

No other Britpart product was used on the axle rebuild as like you, I also avoid their generally shoddy stuff.

yeah i think for series you can only get the chrome ones as the teflon ones where for defenders, disco's and stuff.

when you have had a few landy's you get to no which parts to get in britpart and which not to get in britpart, but in fairness to britpart i have had more issues with major parts manufactures than britpart ;)
