Just a quick one,

Whos going to the THE SUFFOLK 4 X 4 SHOW AND AUTO JUMBLE 14th/15th May 2011.

I know a few of the guys and girls on here are, hopefully catch up with some faces I have not meet yet.

I shall be there on the Herts 4x4offroad club stand pop along say hi
I'm camping there as I'm gonna either be on the stand or helping / marshaling whatever. Hopefully see you there:D:D

Hmmm, I'm on holiday the week before and might be tempted to wander down on a train on the Friday and travel back late on Saturday in time for work Sunday night. I'd love to visit a show, unless I can talk my daughter into driving me down in hew wee car.

Any recommendations for B&B nearby?

We'll be there, staying over night in our caravan, my buddy is hoping to have his S3 109 saffari mot'd so he can pull their van as well. :D

Sorry I dont know any of the B&B's in the area, Bury st Edmunds the local town is only 2 to 3 miles away so there will be plenty of choice there.

The nearest is this one i beleive, but a bit hevey for price

Oak Farm Barn | Bed & Breakfast | Bury St. Edmunds | Suffolk

or this one is near the train station in Bury st Edmunds

St Edmunds Guesthouse | Guest House | Bury St. Edmunds | Suffolk

or have a look here

It prob will not make it any better to get the the show then what the trip will be in a standard TD5, other then change the fueling, may be change the cost of getting there.

I would of thought you will be welcome at the show weather or not your mate has the chip done, is he a member on landyzone as well, if not get him to join the he can ask the questions himself, more the merrier.

Hi Clanforbes don't have any personal experiance of B&B's near Rougham, but if you go to Rougham Airfields website (link at bottom of Big Stu 12's posts) there is a page for visitors with a link to B&B;s local to the Airfield.

I'll be visiting the SLROC stand to renew my membership as I did not get round to doing it at the begining of the year

Well my caravans clean and not green npw, ready for the show. if the weathers like this it will be grand, just need a week of rain before the show starts, lol.

Is there a web link for this, if im not offshore i might pop past see how the 4x4's put shows on compared to VWs ;);)

I cant help noticing, this show seems to clash with another show at Beaulieu that seems to be much better advertised in the landy magazines.

Do you think it will dilute the number of people/traders going to this one?

Dont know, if it will, I know where I will be going , it depends on which one you fancy, and if you fancy the drive all the way to the Beaulieu one, this is for just 4x4's, I know there will also be the local Landy clubs there as well, including off road courses ect ect..... will Beaulieu have that, if so two in the country at the same time give people a choice, Dont knock it untill you tried it.......and if you have then make your choice.

The Beaulieu event is the spring autojumble and on sunday there is the Sodbury sortout, which is basically an autojumble specifically for Land Rovers. There are a few other things going on over the weekend there, but nothing like the Suffolk 4x4 show.

Planning on bringing my Landy and caravan for the weekend if I ever get it running. If so I'll go shove it in the corner, if not I'll probably come up Sunday in the Passat.
