My Wife's Freelander is a pig to change from first into second, now I've changed the lube oil in the 'box, & IRD, as I do annually along with the engine oil & antifreeze, but as I've not driven the car personally for some time, it was on my test drive that I noticed it, I also noted that the clutch seemed a little "sharp" as compared with my Rover.
I have checked for signs of weepage around the clutch master cylinder, and slave, and also the condition of the slave mounting bracket.
Is there anything I may have missed?.
Just to point out the clutch was replaced around 18K ago, by a LR main agent, along with the new engine!
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Brian.

had my clutch replaced last year and same problem then new master cylinder still hard engagement of gears.thehn had new slave fitted solved problem its a pleasure to drive again.one point though i did not have any signs of fluid on garage floor so it must have been letting air in but not any or at least not much fluid out.hope this helps.

Perhaps I should have pointed out, it's a 1.8, now would I be right in thinking, the master/slave cylinders, are sealed units? or is it possible to top them up?
Cheers
Brian.
