HI
Yet again my good old Freelander ist thing in morning for the last couple of weeks not every morning intermittent fault
Put key in ignition wait for glow plug light to go out ,turn key starts on first key always has even when temp low
in that split second fuel gauge needle drops to red line and the returns to normal position also at same time the trip-meter zeros itself and then continues to function okay
Is there anybody that can help as i have checked forums this would appear not to have been a problem to anyone else A NEW FAULT MAYBE
May be Hayes could publish a manual to list all the faults associated with the Freelander since its birth the manual would be a lot thicker than the slandered one based on my experiences it would be a best seller
Sorry i diversed if any one could help i would be grateful

thanks for reply do you think it would cause any more problems if i sprayed WD40 in ignition switch as the battery is good also new alternator also new battery was fitted a little while ago
the only other thing i notice it is happening when really cold in morning but does not happen at night say 10.12 o clock any help would be appreciated

WD40 wouldn't in my experience cause any problems, but why not strip down the switch and clean the contacts. I did this and never had any probs since. Mine was hesitating slightly when turning the key.
