Hi all,

Working my way through the various niggles on my 90 - could use a little advice on the latest problem!
All my gauges work fine with lights off, and work fine with sidelights on.
When I turn on dipped beam weird things happen - the glowplug warning lights glows, and temperature gauge goes up to the red. Strangely, if I depress the button on the handbrake, this corrects the fault....but clearly I can't drive around with my thumb on the handbrake button all day!

I'm not too hot on wiring - any ideas where my bad connection might be??

Cheers,

Yep, I'd agree with Mad Hat Man, sounds like bad earthing on the headlights. Check inside the wings to make sure the earth wires are actually connected to the bodywork.
I had similar problems and discovered somebody had left two of the earth points disconnected after doing work on the vehicle .

cool, I'll try and hunt out and clean the earthing points over the weekend.
I can see the one on the drivers side inner wing which seems to have 2 wires on a ring connector bolted to the bodywork - is there one on the passenger side too....couldn't see one there when I looked, but it was getting dark!

Cheers
