so I thought I'd repaired my fuel gauge problem.
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/fuel-level-sender-resistance-series-2-a-176090.html

but turns out I'm back to square 1. The sender was reading odd again the other day and then eventually read EMPTY, even the low fuel light came on (least now I know its working)

Looks like hot glue keeping the float bouyant dissolved in the diesel and has sprung a leak again!

I don't think silicone sealant will do the trick either, been told petro-chemicals will disolve that too.

anyone suggest anything else? I can't be arsed forking out for a new float (can't find one on ebay, their all attached to sender units), or bimbling round a scrap yard for one.... unless some here has one rolling around in their spares bin?

i have a spare kicking round in the workshop. i'll dig it out.
think it was out of a swb tank, cant remember if the lwb tank floats are the same.
anyway, i'll be in touch when i find it.

take the float out and dip the fekker in fibreglass resin

if itll line a fuel tank with no problems even build a new tank out of it recoating a float should be no problem
