Should this be open?

I'm in the middle of changing my oils just now. Now, this isn't really my comfort zone & I'm not to sure if this 'hole' is missing a bolt/plug.

Think that will be too much for me to take on James. I was quoted £170 to do the job though so will need to work something out.

5 litres of dexron 3 ,undo bung and refill through dipstick ,then check level several times whilst box is in neutral engine running

Yes, that the hole for a wading plug in the bell housing. Your cam belt cover has one as well. If you intend to offroad your landy, then buy a pair off ebay and fit them.

listen to james mate,tis a very easy job to do.save your money.how anyone can charge that for changing g/box oil is beyond me.
