Hi, as an update I have uploaded a picture of the offending article. As you can see it's not in bad nick and has no signs of ever having split pin holes.
I presume the four were fabricated by the last owner, Dean

How tight is the rubber bush when pushed on the post? If the lower part of the shocker can be twisted when fitted in place between the two rubbers with the washer and pin in place it is an MOT failure. Quick fix is thicker washer.

I think I can see where the split pin went in .about a quarter of an inch in and in line with the spring bracket. polish it up with emery strip and you will see it then just drill it out and fit with new split pin and washer

Does anyone have the correct lenght for the pin? Then we can see if its been sawn off or not. If not then the pin hole should be there to be found.

Got a set in the garage will check later.
Could not find spare ones but got mat out and measured on Landrover overall length from back of inner bush to end of pin 21/8" length to split pin centre 17/8"
