After my engine gave up the ghost I've managed to source a suitable TD4 replacement; demonstrated runner, warranty and only 40k miles backed up by some documentation from the donor car.

It comes with the injectors, inlet manifold, high pressure pump but NOT the turbo, alternator, starter or power steering pump.

There's no exchange so I'm looking to salavge any saleable parts that don't need swapping from my engine. The garage that'll be fitting it have advised taking the injectors and I've an EGR bypass so guess the EGR might be useful.

Can anyone recommend any other parts worth salvaging from the old engine block? Also would the block be useful to anyone for recon or scrap?

Thanks.

if it were me i would have the whole lot put in me shed but i'm a hoarder....

How many miles your old engine done?

I'm a hoarder too which is why my shed and garage hasn't room for an engine :)

The old engine was on 115k miles so some parts might not be too desireable. I'm just looking to recoup what I can to soften the blow of forking out for the engine and fitting

I did exactly the same. I got £20 for the cyl head, and £20 for the lower sump plate, £50 for the HP fuel pump

Its worth it if you have the space to store all the bits...

Cheers, I'm sure I can make some space ing the garage, especially if can soften the financial blow.
