no turbo is high flow low pressure some obviously would be lost but nothing like wastegate which lowers pressure operating on exhaust rotor and so limits output

Ah... gotcha... so that, presumably, would explain why I heard a rushing air noise, but didn't really notice a lack of power, right?
And also, because the wastegate wasn't opening, the turbo was potentially creating more pressure than it should as well... right?
