Sorry for the double post, but I'm getting a bit desparate (Moderator please delete the other post). I think this section is more appropriate.

Hi Guys, I'm a Land Rover guy (S3 109) from Germany (formerly Canada... long story) and I am a bit in a pickle. I'm currently traveling in a small car (Hyndai Atos) vacationing with my wife from Germany in Swindon wilts. (we are at a hotel). The car's wheel bearing broke and is making horrid noises. It still drives though. The local Hyundai dealership just laughed at me and the shops near me are booked solid, don't want to help or can't get the bearing. I need to get the car somehow to Dover to get on the Ferry. Does anybody know a transport service that can bring the car there or as close to Dover as possible? Maybe somebody has a trailer? We will compensate, of course. We are starting to get a bit desperate and running out of options.

Thanks in advance!

Herb

We have to take it you are not with ADAC then or any other recovery company?
Or Adac no longer functions outside of Germany.

Shame, they were good, and cheap, once.😢

Looks like you may be stuck with some like these here.

I am with ADAC since 2019 but apparently I have the wrong subscription for the UK. They won"t help despite having upgraded now. Called them twice. I did a Google search like this, of course, but most of these services book two weeks in advance. I am not kidding! "Please plan your emergency two weeks in advance..."

That's a shame.
We too were with ADAC for yeaers until they told ud they would only deal with inside Germany. We needed it as we have places in France and the UK. I guess they were too cheap, others aren't anything like that.
It looks like you may have to book a transport to Dover for 2 weeks time, go home and then at least one of you cross back over to go and get it. At least maybe you could hire a flatbed to put it on and take it back home. Leave the flatbed in Calais, if it'll drive a short way.
Sorry for your troubles mate.

If you have to wait 2 weeks, you might be better off to get it booked in with an independant garage to get it fixed and hire a car for the necessary time.
