Haynes manual wiring diagram no19 : interior illumination and multi function unit - 1995 on

Look at K8 rear screen wiper switch connection to multi function unit (orange & blue coloured wire)

The multi function unit controls the rear was wipe via the rear wash wip relay (G8 on the diagram)

done that and while in there i can hear the relay clicking in so that part is working so im now guessing its the wiper motor failed.

Yep sounds like it mate! Check the earth from the motor in the rear door (turn off ignition and using multimeter on ohms scale from motor body to known good body earth - looking for 0 ohms) ;)

well checked it to the brand new exhaust (not the bestist place but better than any where else i could find. it gave out 3 ohms on the 3 set of nuts i found it to be 6.8 ohms and they wewr the cleanest ones i could find

thanks for your help

I know this has already been said, but mine required both front doors to be shut & the interior light to extinguish before working. I won't tell you how long it took me to work this out, but I used to have hair!!!

Could it be the dreaded 'dry joint' syndrome like the rear windows?? Just a thought:p:p
