As the title says are they exactly the same in terms of size and plastic mount design as I am starting on the fronts and am constructing an MDF mount that replicates the original plastic mount. I am doing this as my speakers are only 5.25 inch ones, plus to get some decent sound without vibration. If it is the same I can get on and make the 4 mounts if they are the same without the hassle of taking the door card off just yet.
Thanks.

Thanks, I take it that the plastic mounts that the speakers are in are the same shape as well?

The holes are circular so just take a speaker out and measure I'm sure I put 6.5 inch speakers in
Yes thanks I know. Just needed to know if the rars were the same shape so as I can get on and make four mounts the same shape out of MDF. I am putting 5 inchers in hence the need to make something that takes smaller speakers. I will take some photos for future reference and post them on here.

Well that's the first 5 and a quarter inch speaker now mounted in the front. The Landy speaker was not working at all. I made the MDF mounts to the same size as the originals and then made a gasket from some closed cell foam (camping mat material) that I happened to have. I just mangaed to get the first one mounted before having to get the kids from school. The difference from the one speaker is already immense and I can't wait to get the others in as the passenger side is cutting in and out and badly distorting. I am using some brand new Vibe Audio for the front with a Kevlar cone and new Infinity's for the rear. All 5 and a quarter because thats what I happnen to have had lying around for the past 3 years. I'll get some pics up later.

Update. After a couple of teething problems with window catching on the speaker cable and pulling them out, the second speaker is in. I finshed off the drivers door properly today and loaded it with sound deadening to the inside of the door. If you tap it now it sounds a lot different to the rear door which is not done. Deadening used? Roof flashing!
I was told a number of years ago by an installer that it is basically the same stuff just a fraction of the cost of the real thing and really does a good job. Now to get onto the backs. The sound from the standard factory unit is already much improved. Now toying with getting some line out convertors so as to be able to install one of the many amps I have lying around.
