on which note I think it deserves a name after the amount of effort I have put in to it this year.. has to be a woman as:

when the atf pipe went I've never seen a grown car bleed that much and survive..

Someone tell me what these muffs are, what they are for and why I should have on efor my 300tdi Disco

It's a cover to restrict flow through the radiator. It's primary purpose is to keep your engine warm in cold climates. It also helps keep mud out when offroading. Mine is black so doesn't show up to well but I have included a piccy of a green one for you.;)

Where was this taken Ratty, looks like Scotland with them houses?

I'm fitting the Muff come winter time, when organising to switch out my Thermostat last week I discovered the TD5's got 13 Litres of coolant running round it. No wonder it takes a fortnight to warm up. LR want £7 per litre of Antifreeze and at a minimim 50% mix it comes out at bloody £50! Bloody halfrauds pre-mixed stuff only goes down to -32 deg C, which aint going to help me much in the Artic. Antifreeze used to be simple...

That was Chesil beach. Antifreeze is about £25 for 5 litres at my local motorfactors.
