While I was looking round for a fiitting guide I found out that it was an option and not all were fitted with them!

They can apparently be fitted to aircon/non aircon models too.

I'm not an expert but at least i can be arsed to have a look for an answer instead of blindly guessing. :)

Hope this helps

that evaporator box has no pollen filter, just like in my FL from 2000

With all respect FL'r I don't think that the pollen filter was a factory option on mine. Just look at the difference in shape & complexity of the evaporator box and consider the " just in time "effort required to fit one with/without a filter at time of build . Why would LR have two entirely different mouldings with alternative fittings just to offer the option of fitting a paper filter element , and yes , I would have expected a pollen filter on a AC equipped car .
I'm not trying to score any points here my friend , just trying to get facts straight for future reference.
I'd suspect that if there are early FL 1's with them installed then it may have been pot luck whether they were or were not fitted in that era.
But I stand to be corrected .......

thats it it was what was left on the shelf when they was putting them together most did not have them fitted and ones that did was on the line when the man went to the shelf :D

SD i know your not point scoring i'm just trying to get to the bottom of it, so others have a clear understanding if they have the same problem.

I read whilst having a scan round that it was an option.

If anyone proves or disproves this post here and let us all know. This information though will be useless without qouting the source, for verification purposes.

pollen filter was not an option just rang a landrover sales man 98/99/200 most of them did not have them fitted but a few did

Glad I came across this thread, been scratching my head all day looking for the pollen filter on my 98'.

Sooo anyone wanna buy a pollen filter....?;)

YES 98 does have a pollen filter I have just checked the wifes car it has 2 plastic screws not four or three and there is only 2 holes so none missing although it is not the usual one it must come with the end bit of plastic to seal it as mine td4 auto 2001 you take the plastic of and then pull out the filter the early one is all in one and no it does not have aircon like mine hope the settles things

well there is to my wifes car with no air con so i would imagine that you should have one fitted with aircon just look

This was covered way back on this thread and the conclusion was that there is no set model or year of Pre 2000 FL that has or has not got a pollen filter . Each owner will have to check their own vehicle .
Just because yours has is not a definitive conclusion that all have .
It's a great pity that due to inaccuracies some owners will buy Pollen filters and be unable to fit them 'cause it was never fitted in the first place .
Perhaps if you go back and read the whole thread from the start and look at the photos on post 16 and 20 you'll be able to show me where it on my car which has air con ?
Thanks in advance .
