When PDC active the light does not flash, but there is a continuous tone - meaning a fault of some sort somewhere. Naturally I have checked all the sensors and they are all ticking / clicking - so what is the next thing I need to check please?
TIA
Rich

Well, I doubled checked that all the sensors were clicking - check ok..

Gave them a good clean - hey presto - working...

Happy Days

Nope gone again... I suspect a bad connection.. Do you have to remove the rear bumper to get the sensors out?

Yeah thinking that may be a good idea. Its now tempramental sometimes works ok sometimes not. Other than bad wiring the only other thing would the the ecu. Found one on the bay for 55 english pounds

Spoke to soon.... Still playin up. Its the rear for sure all sensors seem to be working and now I have the upgraded ecu. .. What else could it be?

Granted its nowhere near as bad as it was but still no 100%

No flashing light never has done. Just the continuous tone but not all the time. Sometimes it works or seems to be but then beeps randomly from rear only. Front is fine..

As attached.....

Resurrection time.. So I have replaced the PDC control unit with the black unit. All sensors are ticking so apparently working but I still get a constant beep. I have tried cleaning with a damp cloth but they still won't work. Any more ideas?

Hi mate having just bought a car with the same symptoms, I had a small amount of Damage to the offside on the rear bumper so Naturally I thought it must be that one thats damaged, bought a bumper replaced the sensor and built it all back up and still the same problem that you have. There are two things that I found, the wiring loom where all the sensors are on is in series so you could have one out and other working no probs, my loom had been rubbing somehow and the plastic had rubbed off the flex showing the bare copper, I sorted this out but I dont actually think that was my problem as it still didnt work. Anyway eventually I took it all off again on Sunday to fit new westfalia Towbar (Easy Job in case anyone is thinking of it) and I built it all back together but this time I had effetively done a hard reset (i.e. Battery Neg off for more than 10 mins) due to working on the towbar electrics and ecu etc.... When I put battery back on bingo PDC working as it should and no probs since. It seems that depending on which sensor has failed it can have a stored fault that until reset with hard reset will give the error you describe I think the PDC goes through a re calibration on its own, and I think its the last or first sensor on the series run of the loom that can cause problems.
Give it a try what have you got to lose except your radio stations :)

Check the front of them, if they're covered in paint or the covering is bubbled this can have odd effects....

If there is a paint layer or bubbling on the sensor, try removing carefully using a sharp scalpel or stanely blade....
