Only three minors  Well chuffed.

I know this has nothing to do with Landrovers, I just felt the need to brag a little.

Anyway, bragging over. I now need to find out why my fender has flattened its battery for no apparent reason. :(:scratching_chin:

Glad I passed my driving test before this was brought in, I'd definately fail on any reversing task!!

Well done anyhows :)

There's no way you'd fail the reversing. That is by far the easiest part, purely because its the only part of the test you're completely in control of and it really isn't difficult once you've been shown how.

It is a bit of a git though, I only missed the deadline by two months myself. Passed my car test in March 97. Although quite glad to have done the lessons now though. I think it has improved my general driving loads.

Total cost has been £570. That is all lessons including test day and the test fee.

 class 1 can cost anything upto (and above) 2K now!!!

Nice one on passing your test though! Gonna be doing mine soon!

Cost me over £2K to sort my Class 2 last year and my Class 1 this year. Glad it covers everything so I don't have to worry about towing my car trailer anymore.

Well done on passing your test.

Chris

An hour minimum driving about being checked on all driving (basically like a advanced test) and then reverse it thru a chicane to stop on a small strip (sounds hard isn't) and hitch, unhitch correctly I wud recommend a lesson cos I though I was a good driver and was shocked all the bits I wasn't quite right on like driving economically :p

Well Done, something which has been on my to-do list for a few years now, i've been trying to persuade work to let me have the time off for free to do it, i'd pay, but, they won't go for it :(

whats actually covered in this test? and do you NEED lesson, iv had quite alot of practice with them and im not bad at reversing.
The B+E test
No medical or theory test required
Read a number plate from a certain distance
VIDEO - Show Me Tell Me Questions - usually 5
The next three can be in any order:-
VIDEO - Reversing Exercise - done in test centre grounds if test conducted from practical test centre - some tests are now being done from training school grounds
VIDEO - Uncouple/couple up - done in test centre grounds if test conducted from practical test centre - some tests are now being done from training school grounds
One hour road drive - includes the independent drive and is done virtually the same as the basic car test

DISCLAIMER - I have no connection to any companies which may be featured in those videos

This is interesting BUT NOT RECOMMENDED – a B licence towing set up can be presented for the B+E test but L plates must be used for the test. So you can train yourself, go to test by yourself, fit L plates, do the test, then, pass or fail, remove L plates and drive away by yourself.
DSA B+E TEST AND VEHICLE/TRAILER REQUIREMENTS

SUPERVISING A B+E LEARNER
In April 2010 new rules were introduced for those supervising certain learner drivers but they only affected those supervising VOCATIONAL categories such as C1 C1+E D1 & D1+E where the supervising driver had those categories given to them for free when they passed a pre 1997 car test.
They do not affect those with a pre 1997 B+E licence who wish to supervise a B+E learner.
All B licence holders have B+E provisional on the paper part of their licence and can tow an empty or loaded trailer on all roads including motorways.
The usual rules apply when a learner is driving -
The supervising driver must be aged over 21
The supervising driver must have held a B+E licence for at least 3 years
L plates must be fitted to the front of the vehicle and the rear of the trailer
Correct insurance for a B+E learner

Well done

My daughter wants to take it but firstly it would mean letting her drive my Landy . And its only been 3 years since the last time I had to sit in as a supervising driver and my nerves still haven't recovered :D
