How the F---- are you supposed to know what the parts are on a 21 year old land rover.
I bought a 21 year old 110 double cab which seems to be on a military chassis (due to the front cross member being bolted in not welded). The previous owner told me it had a 200tdi engine but it’s actually a 300.
The drive train clunks and bangs so I thought I’d start my way through it with new UJ’s and drive shafts, looking at the parts list for Paddocks the need the chassis number, but what of the car is still original and what’s new ?
Did the MOD have double cabs 21 years ago, have the axels and prop shafts been changed with the engine.
The previous owner passed away so his widow can’t help. Is this the fun (hahaha) of owning a Land Rover or just my fault for buying before I know anything about them?

That's why there's parts catalogues with drawings and part numbers - if you can't find one on the forum there's plenty on the internet.

****ing hell write bigger a life time of porn has made me eyesight not wot it was.And paddocks/craddocks ask for part nos so ya get the right bit.

Finding the part numbers isn't the problem, it's knowing if the parts are the correct one's.
If you go to paddocks your asked for the chassis number so you can match the parts to that number, but if the landy has been built from all sorts of landy's knowing the chassis number doesn't help.
I think the best way is to order the parts and send back what doesn't fit.

Take the bits off and then compare them with THE PARTS IN THE PARTS BOOK! Or you can take the bits to your local Land Rover shop and they will compare them with THE PARTS IN THE PARTS BOOK! Eventually you'll learn which bits on YOUR landy come from which model.
